Jean's fascination with music began at the age of
6 when she began picking out melodies on her
two octave xylophone. She began private piano
lessons at the age of 7. She continued lessons
throughout high school where she entered and
won numberous solo piano competitions. She has
also been a church pianist for 35 years. Her passion
for music has continued to grow over the
years and in 1994 she began writing and performing
her own compositions. She also began writing
orchestrations of her music adding other instrumentation
to her lyrical piano compositions.
Her instrumental music has been aired on various
radio stations across the country. She has performed
benefit concerts for Agape Christian
School. Big Brothers Big Sisters of America and
the Sartori Hospital Festival of Trees as wells as
performing at the V.I.P. reception preceding a Bill
Cosby performance. Jean has performed at various
locations throughout the Cedar Valley as a
solo pianist including the Cedar Falls Womens
Club, Gallagher Blue Dorn Performing Arts
Center, Debut Art Gallery, Farradays' (Isle of
Capri), Sunnyside Country Club, Elks Club, Centennial
Oaks Country Club, PIPAC Events Center,
and Von Mauer Department Stores. In 2000, Jean
teamed up with vocal recording artists Wade
Brinkopf and Jeff Reynolds to form the Contemporary
Christian group "Reflections."
Jean continues to write and arrange music both
for solo piano and for "Reflections." She performs
at local events and charities both as a solo pianist
and with "Reflections." She also serves as
the Music Director at St. John Lutheran Church in
Waverly, Iowa. |
